By using this website or engaging Design Homes Style for work, you agree to the terms set out below. If anything here is unclear, or if you need a variation to suit your project, talk to us before work begins so it can be agreed in writing.

Using this website

The content on this site is provided for general information about our services. It is not professional advice for a specific property, and it should not be relied on as a substitute for a site visit and a written scope. We aim to keep the information accurate and current, but we do not warrant that every page is free of error or that the site will always be available.

Enquiries, estimates and quotations

Submitting an enquiry through this website does not create a contract. A contract is formed only when we have surveyed the work, you have received a written scope and quotation, and both parties have agreed to proceed in writing. Estimates given before a site visit are indicative and may change once the condition of the property is known.

Where hidden problems are discovered — for example concealed water damage, previous unpermitted work or structural defects — we will stop, explain the situation and provide a written variation for your approval before continuing.

Scheduling and access

We agree start dates, working hours and access arrangements in advance. Please ensure safe access to the work area, clear the space of valuables and pets, and let us know about any alarm codes, parking restrictions or household circumstances that could affect the work. Delays caused by lack of access, undisclosed conditions or third-party trades may affect the schedule and could lead to additional costs.

Payments

Payment terms are set out in your written agreement and typically combine an initial deposit, stage payments as work progresses and a final balance on completion. Deposits secure materials and scheduling. Invoices are payable within the period stated on them, and we may pause work on overdue accounts after giving notice.

Changes to the agreed scope

Changes are welcome and common. Any change to materials, layout or specification will be priced in writing first. We will not carry out chargeable variations without your approval, and approvals given verbally are confirmed by email or message for both our records.

Workmanship and materials warranty

Our workmanship is covered by a written warranty for the period stated in your agreement, and manufacturer warranties on products are registered where applicable. Warranties cover defects arising from our workmanship under normal use. They do not cover accidental damage, misuse, neglect of recommended maintenance, alterations by others, normal wear and tear, or movement and settling beyond reasonable tolerances. Warranty claims are handled by contacting us directly so we can inspect and put things right.

Home loan, financing and warranty guidance

Our Home Loan and Warranty service offers practical guidance on documentation and financing options. We are not a lender, bank or financial adviser, and nothing we provide is a financial recommendation or a guarantee that any application will be approved. Lending decisions rest entirely with the lender.

Your responsibilities

• Provide accurate information about the property, its history and any known defects
• Obtain any consent required from landlords, co-owners or a homeowners association
• Keep children and pets clear of active work areas, and follow any safety instructions we give
• Remove or protect items of value or sentimental importance from the work area
• Attend agreed inspection points and respond to approvals promptly so the schedule can hold

Photographs and project records

We photograph work in progress for quality control, warranty records and internal training. If you are happy for images of your completed project to be shown publicly, we will ask for your written permission first. You may withdraw that permission at any time.

Intellectual property

The text, photographs, illustrations, layout and branding on this website belong to Design Homes Style or are used with permission. You are welcome to read, share links and print pages for personal use. Republishing content, copying it into other websites or using it commercially requires our written consent. Designs, drawings and specifications we produce for your project remain our intellectual property unless your agreement says otherwise; you receive a licence to use them for that property.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim connected with this website or with work we carry out is limited to the value of the affected work as set out in your agreement. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including loss of profit, loss of rental income or loss of use, except where the law does not allow that limit. Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Third-party products and links

Products we install are covered by their manufacturers' warranties, and we pass on all documentation we receive. Links to other websites are provided for convenience; we do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, availability or practices.

Ending an agreement

Either party may end a project agreement in line with the notice provisions in your signed scope. If an agreement ends partway through, you remain responsible for work completed and for materials ordered for your project, and we will leave the site in a safe condition and hand over records that belong to you.

Governing law

These terms and any dispute connected with them are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, United States, and the courts of that state have exclusive jurisdiction, unless the law requires otherwise.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time to reflect changes in our services or in the law. The version published on this page is the version that applies to your use of the website, and project agreements are governed by the terms in place when they were signed.
